How to read Quran with friends, without matching calendars

The group chat has plans. This one can survive everyone's schedule.

The short answer · From the makers of Hablobi

One shared garden. Different schedules.

In Hablobi, 2 to 5 friends take turns reciting ayahs into the same garden. You do not need to be online together. Complete the surah and each person receives a bouquet with your group's names.

Give the plan a shape small enough to happen

Agreeing to do something together is easy. Finding an evening when everyone is free is where the spreadsheet enters the chat. A shared Quran garden gives you a different option: take turns rather than coordinate a live session.

In Hablobi, Grow with Friends brings 2 to 5 people into one garden. Each person recites on their turn, and the garden grows as you progress through a surah together. Your friends can participate at different times.

How to start a shared garden

  1. Choose a group of 2 to 5 Ashab and make sure you are connected in Hablobi.
  2. Have one person with Hablobi Plus start a shared garden, give it a name and choose a surah from Juz Amma.
  3. Invite the group and start once everyone has joined.
  4. Read your ayah when it is your turn. Hablobi keeps your place and lets you know when your turn comes around.
  5. Complete the surah together. Each participant receives a bouquet with one stem per member and your group's names.

Grow with Friends is included in Hablobi Plus. Each participant needs access to the full app, through a subscription or an active team grant. Take turns in a group of two to five people, including you. Everyone keeps the finished bouquet. Your reading XP comes from your own words.

Pick people who make beginning feel easy

Try a sister, a friend or a small familiar group. Agree on an unhurried pace and a surah that feels appropriate for everyone. A clear, kind expectation is more useful than a grand challenge no one has the time for.

If someone needs pronunciation help, make room for learning. A shared garden is not a reason to rush, embarrass a friend or turn mistakes into entertainment. Reciter audio and qualified teaching can support learning beyond the app.

Make a keepsake, not a leaderboard

When the surah is complete, everyone gets a bouquet to keep or give. You can send yours on a card or on its own. That makes the result something your group made, rather than a comparison of who did the most.

A useful invitation might be: 'Want to grow a little Quran garden with me? We take turns, so we don't have to be online together.' It explains the actual plan without asking someone to commit to an entirely new routine.

Let the next one be a choice

You do not need to promise a year of gardens before finishing one. Try a shared surah, see how the rhythm fits your group, and decide whether you want to start another.

The best group plan is not always the most ambitious one. Sometimes it is the one that quietly makes it out of the chat.

Before you begin.

Do we need to be online at the same time?

No. A shared garden is turn-based. Recite your assigned ayah when your turn is ready, then the next member continues.

Does every friend need a subscription?

Grow with Friends is included in Hablobi Plus. Each participant needs access to the full app, through a subscription or an active team grant. Take turns in a group of two to five people, including you. Everyone keeps the finished bouquet. Your reading XP comes from your own words.

Can my friends hear my recitation?

Grow with Friends shares accepted-ayah progress, not a live audio call or a voice recording. Recitation recognition happens on your phone.

What if someone's turn is waiting?

When a turn has waited for 24 hours, another member can take it. Your group does not need to coordinate one live reading session.
